Mr Trotter's short title

Made in Britain from British pigs that are raised with significantly higher welfare. Mr Trotter’s was born from the shared passion of three pork scratching aficionados – Tom Parker Bowles, Matthew Fort and Rupert Ponsonby – and innovative pork scratching producer, Graham Jebb.

The brief was to create a typographic language that reflected MrTrotter’s British origins and hand crafted qualities. Using Gill and letterpress printing in a way that created more texture and imperfections gave the packaging an ownable British look.

Story and ingredients

Mr Trotters packaging was created with a mix of wood and metal movable type. A collection of large British sans serif wood type was chosen for its quintessential ‘Britishness’ and its beautiful, natural  imperfections. Imperfections that give Mr Trotter’s typography natural character, like the bruises that have come from 70 years of crafting typographic messaging. Traditional techniques and a lovingly hand crafted approach give Mr Trotter’s typography the same crafted characteristics and British qualities as the Pork Scratchings.

Smaller lead type was typeset for the full pack detail and sub headings. The type was manipulated on press to give it a rougher more natural look, before being digitised for the artwork of the final packaging.
